      Description:

      The objective of this training unit is to practice the interaction of a back position player with the pivot. Following warm-up and a running coordination exercise, the players prepare for the running moves in the back positions during the ball familiarization phase. After the goalkeeper warm-up shooting, there will be three offense exercises in which the players further develop the team play step by step. In a 4-on-4 game, the players should implement what they practiced before.

      The training unit consists of the following key exercises:

      - Warm-up/Stretching (individual exercise: 10 minutes/total time: 10 minutes)

      - Coordination run (10/20)

      - Ball familiarization (10/30)

      - Goalkeeper warm-up shooting (10/40)

      - Offense/Small groups (10/50)

      - Offense/Small groups (10/60)

      - Offense/Small groups (20/80)

      - Offense/Team (10/90)

      Training unit total time: 90 minutes

      Equipment required:

      - 1 “unball”

      - 6 cones per team of 3

      - ball box with sufficient number of handballs

      001-1 Warm-up/Stretching (10/10)

      Setting:

      - The players are given sequential numbers.

      Course:

      - The players crisscross through one half of the court and pass an “unball” (which is a ball that has its center of gravity displaced) in numerical order (1 to 2 to 3..., the last player passes to 1 etc.).

      - Add a handball after several rounds. The handball must be passed in reverse order (2 to 1 to the last player...) by playing bounce passes.

      - The players must do jumping jacks between the passes before they may receive the next pass.

      

The players should communicate to find out whether the player who is about to receive a pass is ready or must do the jumping jack movement first.

      001-2 Coordination run (10/20)

      Setting:

      - The players make groups of 3 and stand near the side line as shown in the figure.

      - Each group of 3 positions six cones in the center as shown in the figure.
