      After I was free, I asked if I could visit Mildendo, the big city. The emperor said yes, but he told me to be careful with people and their homes. They told people that I would come.

      The city had a wall around it, two and a half feet high, so it was safe. I entered through the big gate and walked carefully through the main streets. I was careful not to step on anyone; even though everyone was in their houses, they watched me from their windows. The city was so small, I couldn't even walk along some streets with my size. There lived five hundred thousand people, with small houses and a lot of shops and markets.

      The emperor's palace was in the middle of the city. They let me see the palace from all sides. I really wanted to see the rooms inside, but it was hard because the doors were too small for me. So, I spent three days in the park, trying to make two chairs: I took them with me to the palace. I lay down on them and looked through the windows to see the beautiful rooms where the empress and young princes lived. The empress smiled at me and even gave her hand to kiss.
