22. Besides – except
Хотя эти предлоги переводятся одинаково, они имеют противоположные значения:
besides кроме (в дополнение к)
except кроме (за исключением)
Note: В отрицательных предложениях эти предлоги взаимозаменяемы:
He has nothing besides/except his salary.

Местоимение many много употребляется с исчисляемыми существительными, much много – с неисчисляемыми существительными или самостоятельно, т. е. без существительного:
many books/cities/countries/people
much trouble/time/information/money.
Note: Слово much также употребляется как наречие и существительное, например: to read/to speak/to walk much.
