wouldn’t lose it
We talked of Buddy Holly, and posed in Soho Square
For a photo, that made us look like Cold War spies meeting there
We met again in Germany and shared a beer or two
Wolfgang wrote for the magazines and gave me good reviews
I toured and made more records but the times were changing fast
The only thing we both believed was that the music it would last
So the ’80s and the ’90s left us both out in the cold
Wolfgang they say was crazy, and I was indisposed
I said »Wolfgang you’re a writer and these times will soon be gone«
He started writing in the night time at the theatre in Bochum
The last time I saw Wolfgang he was certainly no neater,
Still joking with the guys, backstage at the theatre,
He signed his latest book as the Bochum bars moved on,
A Bermuda triangle bratworst then he took the night train home
OPTIONAL ENDING:
Whenever I’m thinking of Bochum,
I’ll probably have a beer for him again
That’s where Wolfgang set his words in motion
And memories of Wolfgang never end.
(So here’s to Wolfgang, my old friend)
Конец ознакомительного фрагмента.
