2. Meet and Greet
• It is normal in China to shake hands on meeting and parting company. The strength of the handshake is determined by the level of acquaintance and the importance of the occasion. Generally one should refrain from giving a strong handshake to male or female acquaintances. Hugging is reserved for relatives and kissing on the cheeks is rarely seen among Chinese except perhaps on occasions involving expatriate communities.
